We had  a special educational session planned for this evening and it will be rescheduled at a future date to be determined..

On October 2, 2019 a World War II era B-17 “Flying Fortress” crashed at Bradley International Airport shortly after takeoff while experiencing trouble with the number 4 engine. The aircraft upon its attempted landing crashed at the end of the runway and struck a de-icing facility. Seven of the thirteen passenger and crew were killed and six others and one person on the ground suffered various injuries.

Chief John Duffy BIAFD will present on the event from start to finish including mutual aid response and command support, operational periods up to and including the NTSB investigation and the after effects of the crash. Video footage and area Chiefs who were on scene for the incident will discuss the incident from their perspective through this facilitate presentation by Chief Duffy.
