DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to welcome Lauri Volkert\, Connecticut State Fire Marshal\, as the guest speaker at this month’s meeting. \nLauri began her fire service journey by following in the footsteps of her father\, Bill\, as a volunteer firefighter in Coventry. Through dedication and perseverance\, she steadily rose through the ranks to become one of the most respected leaders in the Connecticut fire service\, ultimately being appointed as State Fire Marshal. \nSince her appointment\, Lauri has been actively engaged with the Joint Fire Service Council\, the Career Fire Chiefs Association\, and the Fire Marshal Association. We are fortunate to have the opportunity to meet her in person and hear directly from her. \nLauri brings a strong and thoughtful perspective on fire and life safety\, as well as community risk reduction. She has already launched several promising initiatives in these areas\, and we look forward to gaining insight into her vision and the direction of fire safety efforts across the state. \nR S V P
