The May Meeting of the CFCA will be held at Cafe Luna, 35 Berlin Rd, Cromwell, CT 06416.<\/p>\n
This month\u2019s meeting will include an important legislative update regarding H.B. 5460, which has advanced to the Governor for signature. H.B. 5460 mandates that every municipality develop a comprehensive, formal fire protection plan and submit it to the appropriate state authority by July 1, 2027. This is far more than a routine report or administrative update, it requires a fully operational, strategic, and risk-based plan outlining how fire protection and emergency response services will be delivered within each community moving forward.<\/p>\n
We will also provide updates regarding the CFCA 125th Anniversary, developments involving the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control, and any additional matters that arise prior to the meeting.<\/p>\n
Our guest speaker for the evening will be Jeff Pickney from Mission CIT, who will discuss how their organization can augment departmental capabilities and serve as a strategic training partner for the fire service.<\/p>\n
