At our upcoming meeting, we will be covering several important and timely topics that will have a direct impact on our fire service community. Among the key agenda items are the proposed Connecticut Statewide Fire Service Disaster Plan, Governor Lamont’s bill providing mortgage and tuition assistance, and other legislative initiatives currently being introduced during this session. These discussions are critical, as they may shape policy, funding, and operational standards moving forward.
We will also begin planning discussions for our 125th Anniversary in 2027, review updates regarding the NEFCA grant portal, discuss the continued expansion of the Yellow Envelope Program, and receive an update from the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control. Additionally, we will address any new developments that may arise prior to the meeting.
As you can see, there is a substantial amount of information to be shared and discussed. Attendance is strongly encouraged. Being present, especially in person, allows for meaningful dialogue, real-time questions, and collaborative discussion that simply cannot be captured fully in meeting minutes. Your participation ensures you are informed, engaged, and part of the conversation as decisions and initiatives move forward.
