The May Meeting of the CFCA will be held at Cafe Luna, 35 Berlin Rd, Cromwell, CT 06416.
This month’s meeting will include an important legislative update regarding H.B. 5460, which has advanced to the Governor for signature. H.B. 5460 mandates that every municipality develop a comprehensive, formal fire protection plan and submit it to the appropriate state authority by July 1, 2027. This is far more than a routine report or administrative update, it requires a fully operational, strategic, and risk-based plan outlining how fire protection and emergency response services will be delivered within each community moving forward.
We will also provide updates regarding the CFCA 125th Anniversary, developments involving the Commission on Fire Prevention and Control, and any additional matters that arise prior to the meeting.
Our guest speaker for the evening will be Jeff Pickney from Mission CIT, who will discuss how their organization can augment departmental capabilities and serve as a strategic training partner for the fire service.
Participation in these meetings, particularly in person, creates opportunities for meaningful dialogue, immediate questions, and collaborative discussion that simply cannot be replicated through meeting minutes alone. Your presence helps ensure you remain informed, engaged, and part of the conversation as important decisions and initiatives continue to move forward.
We look forward to seeing everyone there.
